Carla Young
After working for 3 well known recruitment agencies and gaining valuable skills and experience, Carla decided to set up on her own at the end of 2020, initially trading for the first year as CJD Recruitment. In early 2022 the company went Limited and Ability Recruitment was born after successfully building their reputation recruiting for growing SME's in various sectors across the UK.

Carla says the key to their success is listening and building lasting, personal relationships with clients and candidates. “Helping” is always at the forefront of everything they do, and this is reflected in their online reviews and testimonials. She especially enjoys recruiting for Sales & Marketing positions, as she has a passion for this area in her own business.

In her free time Carla loves taking long walks with Neville & Odie (her 2 mini-Sausage dogs). She also enjoys going to group exercise classes, bowling, listening to motivational podcasts and reading.

Phil Pacey
​Recruitment sort of landed in Phil’s lap in 2018. He felt desperate to find a new challenge after working in both retail & training his whole career. He was then approached by an Engineering Recruitment agency who showed him the ropes, but he still always felt the business needed more substance and purpose. He decided to set up as a solo recruiter after being made redundant due to COVID in 2020. After teaming up with Carla on some important projects recruiting for various Head Office positions across the UK, Ability Recruitment was born!

Phil’s free time is mainly taken up by 2 miniature Dachshunds that he loves dearly, and they also keep him fit and active! He say’s he’s extremely competitive when it comes to games or sports and has plenty of Darts trophies that are collecting dust in the loft. Phil is originally from the South Coast, which also means he is a solid Portsmouth fan and therefore a lot of his time is spent watching terrible football, soaking wet and freezing cold at Fratton Park!
